Who we are

AdvisorsVantage (“AdvisorsVantage,” “we,” “our,” “us”) is an educational and awareness platform representing licensed life, accident & sickness insurance brokers in Calgary, Alberta and serving residents of Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Our commitment

We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and provincial privacy statutes. The ten PIPEDA principles - Accountability, Identifying Purposes, Consent, Limiting Collection, Limiting Use/Disclosure/Retention, Accuracy, Safeguards, Openness, Individual Access, and Challenging Compliance - guide everything below.

Personal information we collect

Category, Typical items, How we obtain it, Contact, Name, email, phone, postal code, phone calls, email-Demographic / professional Occupation/profession, date of birth, gender (optional), Web forms, discovery meetings, Coverage preferences, Desired benefits, budget range, Quote request forms, Technical IP address, browser type, pages visited, cookies, Analytics tools.

Note: We do not collect government-issued IDs, banking or credit-card numbers on the public site.

Why we collect it (Identifying Purposes)

• To create and present customized insurance quotes.

• To schedule calls or meetings you request.

• To improve website performance and user experience.

• To comply with regulatory obligations (e.g., anti-money-laundering, licensing audits).

Consent

By submitting a form, booking a call, or otherwise providing information, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure for the purposes above. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 11), but doing so may prevent us from providing quotes or services.

Use, Disclosure & Retention

We limit use and disclosure to:

• Licensed insurance carriers and MGAs required to generate quotes.

• Trusted service providers (CRM, secure Canadian web-hosting, email/SMS platforms) bound by confidentiality agreements.

• Regulators or law-enforcement only where required by law.

• 24 months if you do not become a client, then securely delete or anonymize it.

Accuracy

You control the accuracy of your data. If any information changes, let us know and we will update our records promptly.

Safeguards

256-bit SSL/TLS encryption in transit.

AES-256 encryption at rest on Canadian-based servers.

Role-based staff access with mandatory privacy training.

Multi-factor authentication on all cloud systems.

Cookies and analytics

We use first-party cookies and privacy-focused analytics to understand site traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser; core quote functionality will still work.

Third-party links

AdvisorsVantage.ca links to other websites (insurers, industry resources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

• Ask for corrections.

• Withdraw consent and/or request deletion (subject to legal/contractual restrictions).

• Email privacy@advisorsvantage.ca or write to the Privacy Officer (email address below). We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” will change and a notice will appear on our homepage if changes are material.
